In March 1964, in the Rastrelliev Gallery of the Hermitage, it was possible to organize a scandalous exhibition of five artists - workers of the museum (Shemyakin, Kravchenko, Lyagachev, Uflyand, Ovchinnikov). Then - again years of hard work, copying in the Hermitage (from Snyders to Gauguin), murals in churches in the Pskov region and Kemerovo, the development of his own style. Since 1986. - Participation in foreign exhibitions and trips to the USA and Europe, personal exhibitions in St. Petersburg (1992 and 1996), New York (1986 and 1989), Paris (1998), Tartu (1998), Cologne (1999). Since 1994 he started sculpting.
His works are in the State Hermitage Museum, the State Russian Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Museum of Art (Beijing), the Tartu Art Museum, the AOK-GALERIE (Düsseldorf), the Rutgers Museum (New Jersey).
